Job summary

Colorado Kidney Care in Aurora, CO is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our EMR-based practice. The ideal candidate will greet patients, perform check-in/out, take vitals, process payments, and help with lab work, schedules, and charting.

Requirements include completing a certified Medical Assistant program, at least six months of MA experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong computer skills. We offer excellent benefits, a generous PTO plan, and a competitive pay scale.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and perform check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Room patients, process urine specimens, and take vitals.
  • Process patient payments and perform billing entry.
  • Prepare payment batches and maintain cash transactions.
  • Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations.
  • Scan and attach patient records in EMR and manage docs.
  • Coordinate with providers and schedule follow-ups as needed.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent computerskills as we are an electronic medical records based practice.Qualified candidate must have a minimum of six months of relevantexperience. This is a position for our office on the Aurora MedicalCenter. The work week is Monday-Friday, with flexible scheduleoptions available, includes a 4 day work week.

We offer excellent benefits, generous paid time off plan andhighly competitive pay, starting at $23 - $25 per hour commensuratewith experience. Bi-lingual pay may be offered. Employment is contingenton successful completion ofpre-employment screening and background check. The position willremain posted until filled.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet patients and perform Check-in and Check-out procedures in anaccurate and timely manner
  • Room patients, process urine specimens, and take vitals
  • Process patient payments and perform billing payment entry
  • Prepare payment batches and maintain accurate office money andcash transactions
  • Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations
  • Distribute notes and information to outside providers/entitieswhen needed
  • Prepare for patient office visits and prepare lab work in patient charts
  • Maintain appointment waitlist and schedule waitlist appointmentswhenever possible
  • Scan and attach patient medical records and administrativedocuments in EMR
  • Utilize and maintain office communication through Outlook,calendars and task reminder
  • Review and process incoming faxes, and flow labs that are notelectronically sent
  • Make patient reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior topatient appointments
  • Cross coverage of other duties as needed & other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant education program andhave a minimum of two years of relevant MA experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication
  • Expected to communicate in a precise and clear manner, verballyand in writing
  • Works with others in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Displays patience and compassion in all patient interactions
  • Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Possess an intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel,and Outlook
  • Ability to navigate the internet proficiently
  • Proficient with general math skills
  • Expected to function at a high level of efficiency withoutconstant supervision and also work as part of a team
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good MVR
