Job description

ENT and Allergy Associates, New York & New Jersey's premier ENT and Allergy medical practice, is seeking a self-motivated, people-friendly full-time Certified Medical Assistant for our Astoria office (bilingual Spanish required).

Responsibilities
  1. Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  2. Prepares patients for their appointment by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room.
  3. Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  4. Supports patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
  5. Educates patients by providing medication and instructions; answering questions.
  6. Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
  7. Keeps inventory of supplies.
  8. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
  9. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Job Requirements
  1. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Bilingual Spanish required.
  3. Must be able to work independently.
  4. NextGen experience is a plus.
  5. Previous experience is a plus.
  6. Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required, with preference for certifications such as CMA or RMA. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Emergency Medical Technician certification, or five years of continuous experience working as a Medical Assistant will also be considered.
Schedule

Monday 9:00 - 6:30PM

Tuesday 8:00 - 4:30PM

Wednesday 8:30 - 5:00PM

Thursday 8:30 - 5:00PM

Friday 8:30 - 4:00PM
