Essentia Health’s St. Marys - Detroit Lakes Clinic offers a Medical Assistant Apprentice program that pays for your education and certification as a Medical Assistant, with a 1-year work commitment after program completion.

Training covers patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks in a supportive clinic setting. You will train through a cohort beginning July 2026, gain hands-on experience, and pursue CCMA certification within 12 months of completing the program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must enroll in Medcerts training program to perform Clinical Assistant duties.
• CCMA Board Certification required within 12 months of completing apprentice education and on-the-job hours.
• AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on clinical training in patient care and procedures.
• Administrative responsibilities within the clinic.
• Collaborative, team-based work in a supportive environment.
