Medical Assistant Apprentice (On Site, Austin, TX)

Job Summary

The Central Health Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program offers a true "earn and learn" pathway to employment for individuals aspiring to become certified medical assistants. All apprentices will be full-time employees with benefits and will be eligible for hire upon program completion. The program prepares apprentices to pass the medical assistant certification exam.

This includes 15 weeks of paid apprenticeship, comprising 360 hours of instruction and at least 160 hours of practicum experience. The Medical Assistant Apprentice provides direct and indirect patient care activities in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a preceptor.

Mandatory in-person attendance is required; vacation will not be granted during this expedited program. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, clear all Austin Community College registration holds before starting, and maintain good standing.

Essential Functions

• Complete the medical assistant apprenticeship program according to the schedule.
• Successfully complete course modules and clinical practicum hours.
