Telluride Regional Medical Center is hiring a Medical Assistant Apprentice. This entry‑level trainee will rotate through Patient Access, Primary Care, Laboratory, and Emergency Department settings while completing online coursework and gaining hands‑on experience.

You will observe, learn, and progressively participate in patient care activities under supervision, developing clinical and administrative skills in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Interest in healthcare and patient care services.
• Ability to complete rotation-based competency assessments.
• Willingness to work varied hours including evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete online Medical Assistant certification coursework.
• Participate in departmental rotations (Patient Access, Primary Care, Laboratory, Emergency Department).
• Observe and assist with patient intake procedures and histories under supervision.
• Learn vitals measurement, examination room prep, and equipment upkeep.
• Support providers and clinical staff during patient visits.
• Learn documentation standards and electronic health record workflows.
• Provide patient education materials as directed by staff.
