Job summary

Rush University Medical Center seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians, mid-levels, and RNs in an ambulatory clinic. You will help manage patient flow, prepare exam rooms, perform basic procedures, and document care in the electronic medical record.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and CMA certification by hire. CPR certification is required. Preferred candidates have Epic Ambulatory experience and one year of clinical practice, with a 0.9–1.0 FTE schedule in Chicago.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NAHP/AAH/NHA).
• Rush Apprentice program graduates must obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Current CPR certification required on start date.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain organized patient flow.
• Perform patient intake: vital signs, reason for visit, allergies, medications.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers with procedures.
• Review schedules and ensure patient charts are available for visit.
• Manage and document patient care information in the EMR.
