Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Medical Center, recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will assist providers and other members of the healthcare team in the clinic by performing various back-office and patient-related tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow within the department. You will also perform a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice.

  • Procedures may include injections, EKGs, ear lavage, blood draws, measuring vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature), managing rooming and patient flow including pre-visit preparation, assisting during patient visits, and post-visit duties.
  • Inform providers of schedule changes impacting patient flow, assist with front office activities, varied scheduling tasks, and report test results as directed by the provider.
  • Contribute to Virginia Mason's Team Medicine approach to collaborative care, benefiting from the Virginia Mason Production System, which has transformed healthcare by providing easier access, reducing errors, and innovating patient safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program, with Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) credential.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in PC use.
  • One year of Medical Assistant – Certified experience preferred.
