Description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Completed two years of medical training in the U.S. Armed Forces, or
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.

Additional requirements include Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire, National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire, 6 months of healthcare experience, and 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
