Blue Ridge Health in Sylva, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to join the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). We will train you! The position offers $20.50 hourly pay (entry level) with opportunities for salary and career advancement.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available after 90 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 403(b) with company match, and 9 paid holidays per year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or RMA preferred; must obtain certification within 18 months of hire if not currently certified.
• Licensed Practical Nurses - NC licensure preferred; we will pay for license renewal.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for the ACTT team, including scheduling, client records, reporting, and general office operations.
• Work in a fast-paced behavioral health setting and assist providers with patient care.
• Obtain and record vital signs and perform basic procedures like blood draws and injections.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and handle inquiries for providers.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment.

What You'll Do:

As a Medical Assistant or LPN you will be an integral member of the ACTT team assisting with the direct care of patients and clinic activities. We are looking for a team player that can help build a positive environment with a desire to work in an interdisciplinary healthcare team and with a culturally diverse patient population. Responsibilities include:

• Provide administrative support for the ACTT team, including communication, scheduling, client records, reporting, staff paperwork, and general office operations while responding professionally and compassionately to clients and the public.
• Working in a fast-paced behavioral health setting
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and injections
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying information to providers
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Contributing to a positive and cooperative team environment

What We're Looking For:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical documentation preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant preferred - Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire date if not currently certified (We can help you get it - ask us how!)
• Licensed Practical Nurses - NC licensure preferred (we will pay for your license renewal!)
• Medical phone triage experience preferred
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed
• Bi-Lingual (preferred, but not required - we pay extra per hour for your language skills)
