Job summary

Women's Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians across obstetrics and gynecology services. The role involves patient prep, room turnover, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections when applicable, and patient education throughout visits.

Team collaboration, accurate EMR documentation, and adherence to HIPAA are essential. Candidates should be reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality care for women across their reproductive years and beyond.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certification or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Graduate of nationally accredited MA program or served as Medical Technician in the Armed Forces.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.
• Proficient data entry and EMR usage.
• Excellent communication and professional interaction with teams and patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment or procedures.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize exam rooms, procedure areas, and labs as directed.
• Record medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaints.
• Measure and document vital signs; maintain accurate charts.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections where applicable.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from providers.
• Maintain safe, compliant work environment and HIPAA adherence.
• Sterilize instruments; relay messages between patients and staff.
• Represent the office professionally; interact courteously with all customers.
• Attend required meetings and participate in team activities.

With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women's Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.
The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor's visit.

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
• Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
• Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
• Represent the office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Participate in team activities and professional development activities.
• Attend required meetings.
• Demonstrate and embody the Women's Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment.
• To be eligible for employment and to obtain an MA certification, you must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women's Care training.
• Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
• Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally.
• Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
