Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care for patients and support staff during office visits. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting providers, taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy and injections where applicable, and maintaining exam rooms per policy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS certification, and familiarity with electronic medical records (eCW). Prior OB/GYN or primary care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • (FL Only) CMA certification preferred OR the ability to obtain within the first 120 days of employment.
  • To be eligible for employment and to obtain MA certification, you must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days via Women’s Care training.
  • Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, if applicable.
  • Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
  • Professional communication with all levels of staff and patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Proficient in a computer and EMR data entry, preferably eCW.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment, examinations, and testing.
  • Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per policies.
  • Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
  • Measure, record, and document vital signs.
  • Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per policy.
  • Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by complying with regulations.
  • Sterilize medical instruments per standards.
  • Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
  • Represent the office in a professional manner; treat all customers with courtesy.
  • Participate in team activities and professional development, attend required meetings.
  • Demonstrate and embody Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit.

Qualifications

  • Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
