Job summary

Women’s Care, a leading women's health group, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in procedures, examinations, and patient care. You will prepare patients, maintain exam rooms, document medical histories, and assist with phlebotomy when needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, MA credentials preferred in Florida, CPR/BLS, and experience in OB/GYN or primary care. A fast-paced, team-driven environment awaits with HIPAA compliance and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment.
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
  • Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
  • Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.
  • Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
  • Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
  • Measure, record, and document vital signs.
  • Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
  • Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
  • Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
  • Represent the office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Participate in team activities and professional development activities.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Demonstrate and embody the Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
