Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Winchester, AR, is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for our behavioral health office. The role requires providing clinical support to providers, taking vitals, giving injections, and handling front-desk tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

Opportunity for growth with a strong team; diploma required and CMA certification preferred; new grads welcome. Work hours typically Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, up to 29 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting Diploma required, but newcomers welcome.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred or required depending on setting.
• Six months to one year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Taking vitals and weight.
• Giving injections.
• Assist providers.
• Pass medications.
• Answering phone calls.
• Greeting clients.
• Updating patient information.
• Filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals.
• Helping provider with referrals, admissions and laboratory referrals.
• Screen provider calls and assist with problem calls.
• Give TB tests for employees.
• Dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Fax and phoning in of patient medications to pharmacies.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow CMA guidelines.

You will be integral in providing professional medical care as a Medical Assistant to behavioral healthcare patients. Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• helping the provider to complete arrangements for referrals, admissions and laboratory referrals.

• Fax and phoning in of patient medications to pharmacies
• Maintain confidentiality and use good judgment within the limits of the CMA guidelines and follow department policies and procedures

We Value Your Medical Assistant Experience and Education:

• Medical Assisting Diploma required--but we welcome new grads!
• Certified Medical Assistant with six months to 1 year experience in a clinical setting preferred.
