Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Peru, IN seeks a Medical Assistant to support patients of all ages at our Primary Care office. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, with responsibilities across patient flow, vitals, exam room prep, and documentation.

You will assist with exams and minor procedures, maintain infection control, and participate in telehealth and screenings. Qualified candidates have MA training and preferred CMA/NCMA/CCMA/RMA certification; associates degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred - CMA, NCMA, CCMA or RMA.
• 6-12 months of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records and follow infection control protocols.
• Conduct screenings PHQ 9, Edinburgh GAD 7 and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings and uphold OSHACLIA standards.
