Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Escort patients and prepare them for examinations.
  • Enter medical histories and current medications into the chart.
  • Assist physicians by scribing notes during exams.
  • Set up biopsies, excisions, sutures, and cosmetic procedures.
  • Prepare and collect lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-ups.
  • Maintain exam rooms, including cleaning and stocking.
  • Handle laboratory equipment, including cleaning and autoclaving.
  • Perform other back-office duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not mandatory.
  • Medical Assistant training is required.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of medical office experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience in Dermatology and cosmetic procedures is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong phone etiquette and teamwork skills.
  • Professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Compassionate and caring approach.
  • Ability to prioritize, understand provider instructions, and seek advice when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.

Additional Information

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity, mobility, and handling sharps/chemicals.
