Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Sierra Vista, AZ to support Providers in daily clinic operations and patient care.

This full-time position requires completing a Medical Assistant program, knowledge of medical terminology, and willingness to handle routine tests and patient communications. Cardiac experience is preferred but not required, and some travel may be involved.

• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine lab tests.
• Screens telephone calls for physicians.
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests.
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required.
• Returns patient phone calls and calls in prescriptions.
• Answers triage calls and travel may be required.

Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Sierra Vista, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Screens telephone calls for physicians
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
• Returns patient phone calls
• Calls in patient prescriptions
• Answers triage calls
• Travel required
• Other related duties may be assigned
