Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ, to support providers in daily clinic operations and patient care.

Location: Tucson, AZ 85718. This full-time position requires travel up to 25% and offers opportunities to work closely with cardiology specialists while handling vitals, EKGs, lab tests, and patient coordination.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiac Experience.
• Knowledge in medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Screens telephone calls for physicians.
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests and performs them as required.
• Returns patient calls and calls in prescriptions.
• Answers triage calls.
• Travel required.
• Other related duties may be assigned.

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

Location: Pima - Tucson Heart Center, Tucson, AZ 85718

Position Type: Full Time

Travel: Up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Screens telephone calls for physicians
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
• Returns patient phone calls
• Calls in patient prescriptions
• Answers triage calls
• Travel required
• Other related duties may be assigned
