Job Description

Inova Physician Services (Pediatric Cardiology-Fairfax) is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 2 to join our team. This is a full-time position, day shift, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient care tasks such as recording vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, and patient support.
• Prepare patients for visits, relay instructions, and assist with specimen collection, phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical tasks.
• Manage clerical duties including handling medical records, lab reports, and forms.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring equipment functions properly and supplies are stocked.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and clinic huddles, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.

Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 8 am to 5 pm.
• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: At least 1 year of clinical practice; infusion experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and Certified Medical Assistant, both required at start.
