UMMG - Community Health Delivery - Palm Beach Gardens has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) 2. The incumbent will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist medical providers, supporting patient healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner, adhering to standards of quality, safety, and service. The MA 2 provides hands-on care under the supervision of a licensed physician, following ethical, legal, and institutional standards, and contributes to a compassionate, healing environment.

Core Duties And Qualifications

• Abides by ethical standards, therapeutic communication, and privacy protections.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Assists with physical exams, prepares treatment rooms, and understands asepsis principles.
• Performs routine lab tests, vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and documentation.
• Administers medications safely, assists with patient mobility, and transports patients.
• Maintains sterile instruments, schedules tests, and provides care instructions.
• Maintains accurate records, manages supplies, and follows policies.

Note: In hospital units, MA 2s do not perform medication administration.

This list is not exhaustive and may expand as needed.

Core Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program (USDE recognized).

Note: Active MA certification or proof of completion from an approved program is required; exceptions may apply.

• Certifications: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA.
• If uncertified, must provide proof of program completion and agree to obtain certification within 12 months.

Additional certifications such as AHA BLS and Florida HIV/AIDS CE are preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of previous experience required.
