Job summary

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Patient Care Technician certification may substitute for education.
• Experience in an office or clinic setting.
• Demonstrates knowledge of proper patient care techniques.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to staff in a timely manner.
• Maintains safety awareness in all procedures.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to achieve expected patient outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent data related to the patient, situation, or setting in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention through standard precautions, wound care, and hand hygiene.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living, records vital signs, and reports changes to the assigned nurse.
• Demonstrates caring relationships and respect in line with professional standards.
