Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists in Sea Girt and Brick, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to join our podiatry practice. You will support physicians with hands-on patient care, perform front desk duties, and help with scheduling and patient communication in a hybrid role that cross-trains across offices.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, CMA or RMA certification or 2+ years clinical experience, and proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant program completion or 2+ years clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience with EMR, medical terminology, and basic insurance processes.
• Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, room them, take vitals, and prepare for exams.
• Assist providers with injections, wound care, minor procedures, and in-office surgeries.
• Apply DME, strappings, and pads; take X-rays; prepare and submit lab specimens.
• Clean and sterilize instruments; stock rooms; maintain supply readiness.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, manage calendars, and check-in/out.
• Verify insurance, referrals, and authorizations; collect copays and balances.
• Update patient records via scanning, faxing, and data entry.
• Support billing follow-ups, orthotics tracking, and end-of-day documentation.

Job description

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant 2 to join our growing podiatry practices in Sea Girt and Brick, NJ. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

As a Medical Assistant 2, you'll support physicians with hands-on patient care and provides front desk support such as scheduling, check-in, and patient communication. You’ll use both your clinical skills and your administrative strengths. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and wants to be cross-trained in multiple areas of the office.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Welcome patients, room them, take vitals, update medical history, and prepare them for exams
• Assist providers with injections, wound care, nail care, minor procedures, and in-office surgeries
• Apply DME, strappings, and pads; take X-rays; prepare and submit lab specimens
• Clean and sterilize instruments, stock rooms, and maintain daily supply readiness
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and handle patient check-in/out
• Verify insurance, referrals, and authorizations; collect copays and patient balances
• Maintain and update patient records through scanning, faxing, and data entry
• Support billing follow-ups, orthotics tracking, and end-of-day documentation

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant program completion or 2+ years of clinical experience
• CMA or RMA certification
• Strong multitasking, communication, and customer service skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist wherever needed

Pay Range:

• $21 - $22/ per hour, based on experience
