Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. In this role you’ll work alongside our podiatrists delivering hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, with hands-on and ongoing clinical training provided.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience; CMA/RMA certification preferred. Travel between local office locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands-on patient care in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting.
