Under direct supervision, preforms administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the nurse on duty. Register clients Verify insurance Schedule appointments Maintaining medical records Billing and coding for insurances Request records from other facilities Prepare reports and documents Manage patient assistance programs Input data in SENDSS Assist in case management of TB contact investigations Placement of PPDs, venipuncture, and follow up patient encounters Case Manage County- District communication for 13 counties Complete state forms and documents upon request Home visits.
All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university with one (1) year experience in a related field; or High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in medical assisting; or Two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Medical Assistant 1 (HCT100) or position equivalent.
