Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions in Houston, TX is hiring a Medical Assistant for a temporary assignment. The role supports the clinical team, facilitates patient prep, and documents visit information. Travel to Bellaire is required; schedule is on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

This temporary role lasts about 4 months with benefits after 90 days. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program, at least 1 year of experience, and BLS

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the clinical team in delivering safe, effective patient-centered care.
• Prepare for patient visits by confirming schedules, test results, and clinic requirements.
• Room patients and document key visit information (chief complaint, vitals, medication list, allergies, smoking history).
• Perform clinic procedures as competency-validated (may include hearing/vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and equipment cleaning).
• Stock exam rooms and clinic supplies; clean rooms appropriately between patients.
• Assist with routine and specialty procedures.
• Schedule follow-ups/referrals and complete clerical tasks (scanning, faxing, photocopying).
• Handle telephone messaging and in-person screening with appropriate follow-up.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy/confidentiality (HIPAA).

Medical Assistant Highlights

The pay for this position is $19.00 per hour.

Schedule: Monday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (on-site)

Onsite position (Travel to Bellaire is required)

This position is a Temporary assignment Duration: ~4 months (coverage for leave)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program
• At least 1 year of related experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Able to work on-site in Houston, TX and travel to the Bellaire location as needed
• Able to meet physical requirements (up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly)
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA
