Pay Range: $19.50 - $29.73 per hour

Summary: The Medical Assistant assists Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with patient evaluation, management, and treatment in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include maintaining patient flow, exam rooms, performing vital signs, point of care testing, administering injections, immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and over-the-counter medications under physician direction. The role exemplifies Rush's mission, vision, and values, adhering to policies and customer service standards.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA (includes injections and medication administration) upon hire
• Graduates of Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship must obtain certification within six months
• Current CPR certification
• Computer skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year clinical experience
• Phlebotomy experience
• Epic Ambulatory experience

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, patient intake, preparing patients and supporting providers, reviewing schedules and charts, performing lab and testing procedures, administering medications and treatments, documenting care, scheduling tests and follow-ups, sterilizing equipment, maintaining supplies, participating in quality improvement, and ensuring compliance with standards.
