Job summary

NeighborHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical care team at 17 Main Street – WCHC. You will support providers, manage patient flow, and perform essential clinical tasks in a busy practice serving a diverse patient population.

The ideal candidate has a HS Diploma/GED or CMA certification and at least 1 year of Medical Assisting and customer service experience, with bilingual English/Spanish abilities preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.
• 1 year of Medical Assisting experience preferred.
• 1 year of Customer Service experience.

Responsibilities

• Vital signs and pulse oximetry.
• Obtain EKGs and basic lab studies (glucose testing, urinalysis).
• Sterilize and prepare instruments; handle supplies and equipment.
• Assist providers and manage patient flow.
• Communicate with patients and care teams throughout sessions.

Working in close partnership with a provider(s) of our busy Department, the medical assistant assists and directs care of patients in a practice. Their primary function is to manage efficient patient flow and to be available to assist providers as needed. The Medical Assistant is responsible for various non-skilled nursing tasks, for the maintenance and control of non-pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, and for assigned support activities. The Medical Assistant assumes a range of patient care responsibilities dealing with the physical and emotional aspects of assigned patients ages 0 months to greater than 100 years. Prepares for assigned clinics and ensures all test results and instruments are available per department protocol. Be available to assist with their assigned providers. Communicates with them throughout the session.
