Job summary

Vera Whole Health is hiring multiple Medical Assistants (MA-C) across Alaska. Positions are full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, at several clinic locations including Wasilla, Anchorage, and Fairbanks. Candidates must be MA-C, with EMR experience, and current BLS/CPR certification.

The role supports physicians and clinic teams, handling rooming, vitals, specimen processing, and accurate EMR documentation. Offers comprehensive benefits and a stable work routine.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Negative TB test within last 90 days.
• Experience with EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and verify patient information.
• Obtain and document vital signs and routine clinical information.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for visits and procedures.
• Assist physicians and licensed providers with examinations and procedures.
• Collect, label, process, and handle specimens per protocols.

• Maintain cleanliness and infection-control standards.
• Document clinical information in the EMR.

Schedule

Essential Responsibilities

• Room patients and verify patient information.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other routine clinical information.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits and procedures.
• Assist physicians and licensed providers with examinations and procedures within scope of practice.
• Collect, label, process, and handle specimens according to established protocols.
• Support patient flow by coordinating with providers and care team members.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of clinical areas.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, privacy, and patient identification standards.
• Accurately document clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).

Qualifications

Required

• Current, unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test completed within the last 90 days.
• Experience with EMR documentation.

Preferred

• Two or more years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, or urgent care settings.
• Proficiency in: Phlebotomy Medication administration and injections EKG performance

Compensation Range

$18.00 to $27.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
