Northwest Foot & Ankle Specialists

Northwest Foot and Ankle Specialists clinic is a podiatric group located in Everett, Washington. We are board certified and qualified physicians specializing in all your foot and ankle needs such as toes, toenails, flat feet, bunions, heel pain, arthritis, sport injuries, and much more.

Position Summary

This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. Hours are Monday-Thursday 7:45-4:45 with a 60-minute lunch, Friday 7:45-3:45 with a 30-minute lunch.

The primary role of the Medical Assistant is to provide direct clinical support along with face-to-face care of the patient and administrative support for assigned physician and when needed, all physicians.

  • We provide $100 scrub allowance each year.
  • Casual Fridays each week!

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Room patients and gather and record patient vitals, medical history and history of present illness in electronic health record.
  • Constantly monitoring phone pool and incoming questions and following up with patients in a timely manner. All medication refills need to be addressed the day they come in.
  • Perform minor office procedures (suture removal, dressing changes, bracing, cast removal, etc.).
  • Fitting and dispensing durable medical equipment to patients.
  • Completing insurance authorizations for MRI’s and CT’s .
  • Drawing up injectable medications for physicians.
  • Stocking exam rooms and keeping office space clean and organized.
  • Perform all required x-rays ordered by the physician.
  • Assist as directed by Supervisor.
  • Provide clinical coverage on days you are not with assigned physician .
  • Prepping your schedule for the day/week .
  • Prepping exam rooms before physicians see patient based on type of visit
  • Have rooms opened and ready to go before clinic opens.
  • Shut down and clean exam rooms before leaving for the day.

Education/Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a medical office preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skilled in using a computer (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of podiatry
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications
  • Familiarity with or working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records a plus
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including data entry
  • Great interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, compassion, empathy and the ability to work well with all types of people
  • Adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Use time efficiently, with attention to quality, detail, accuracy and completion
  • Consistency, timeliness and dependability
