Job summary

Sentara Medical Group Family Medicine Gloucester is hiring a qualified Medical Assistant. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. Must be CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic, with 1 year of clinical or administrative experience and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities include patient care and clerical tasks under supervision, with opportunities for career growth within Sentara Health Plans. Active CMA/CCMA/RMA/EMT-Basic certification is required.

Qualifications

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision of physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
• Assist with exams, procedures, and specimen collection as trained and delegated.
