Medical Assistant – Coral Springs, Florida

Responsibilities
- Remain with the physician at all times in the exam room unless instructed to step out or schedule a study.
- Assist the doctor during the patient’s initial consultation, weekly status checks, routine follow‑up examinations, and any emergency visits.
- Schedule and follow up on all diagnostic studies, ensuring proper documentation and obtaining the physician’s signature on test results.
- Acquire results and notify the physician of all interim reports.
- Draw blood for various laboratory tests sent out.
- Follow up on laboratory results.
- Attend annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings and integrate updates into clinical practice.
- Practice safety precautions and wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
- Document medications the patient is currently taking and any new medications prescribed, including name, dose, amount, prescribing physician, instructions, date, and nurse’s initials.
- Document any samples given to the patient.
- Chart patient’s vital signs, initial weight, and all follow‑up weights.
- Obtain signed permission slips for patients undergoing radioactive prostate seed implants only.
- Verify the allergy sticker is complete.
- Assist or perform catheterization for various simulations.
- Report or verify all patient problems as reported.
- Maintain HIPAA rules and regulations for patient privacy.
- Maintain open communication with front desk, nursing staff, etc., regarding:
- Patient add‑ons
- Patients on treatment breaks
- Changes in treatment plan
- Be an active part of the center’s team.
- Demonstrate courtesy and respect at all times.
- Represent the company professionally.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations.
- Maintain attendance according to scheduled days and hours and comply with uniform and appearance standards.
- Attend mandatory company training sessions as required by state/federal law.
- Advance the patient experience by building strong relationships and networks to deliver organizational goals.
- Participate in and enforce standards of care for patients.
- Demonstrate a poised and confident demeanor that reassures others and commands respect.
- Promote consistent positive patient interactions that advance unparalleled patient service.
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Maintenance of relevant licenses and/or certifications.
- Preferably 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
