Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Medical Assistant for our dermatology clinic in Oconomowoc, WI. The role offers full-time, onsite work with a friendly, patient-centered environment and daily collaboration with providers, nurses, and staff.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years MA experience, EHR proficiency, and strong scheduling skills. You will scribe, prepare patients for exams, assist with dermatology procedures, and help maintain accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years minimum recent Medical Assistant experience.
• CCMA or RMA preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for providers and document encounters in EMR.
• Room patients, collect data, and prepare for examinations.
• Assist with dermatology procedures setup and instruments.
• Support patient care with basic clinical tasks.
• Enter and maintain patient information in EMR.
• Manage appointments and clinic workflow with scheduling systems.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and front-desk duties as needed.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses and staff for patient-centered care.
• Adapt to fast-paced dermatology clinic and triage calls.
• Provide coverage across multiple clinic locations as needed.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Act as a scribe for providers, accurately documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record systems.

• Room patients efficiently, obtain and document relevant medical information, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.

• Assist providers with the preparation and setup for dermatological procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready.

• Support patient care activities, including basic clinical tasks appropriate to a Medical Assistant or LPN in a dermatology setting.

• Use electronic medical record systems to enter, update, and maintain accurate patient information and clinical documentation.

• Use scheduling software, including Eclipse scheduling database and MediNotes systems, to manage appointments and support clinic workflow.

• Assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and check-out processes as needed to support clinic operations.

• Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to promote a friendly, efficient, and patient-centered environment.

• Adapt to a fast-paced dermatology clinic, managing a steady patient volume while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care.

• Participate in triage activities, including handling patient calls and routing clinical concerns appropriately, where assigned.

• Support multiple clinic locations or schedules as needed, ensuring consistent and reliable coverage within the dermatology practice.

Essential Skills

• Ability to train and work effectively in a fast-paced dermatology clinic.

• Hands‑on experience with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical record systems.

• Experience with appointment scheduling in a clinical setting.

• Ability to act as a scribe for providers and document accurately in real time.

• Strong patient care skills and commitment to providing compassionate, professional service.

• Ability to collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years at minimum of recent medical assistant experience.

• CCMA or RMA preferred

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, somedays may work 7:30am to 4:30pm. No weekends.

This position is fulltime onsite in Oconomowoc, WI.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oconomowoc, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
