Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Oconomowoc, WI seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support dermatology services. You will room patients, document vitals, and assist the dermatologist during procedures while maintaining a friendly, efficient clinical environment.

The role requires CMA or RN/LPN or Forefront Derm Tech certification advancement, and familiarity with EMR and MS Office. Travel to other clinics may be required; strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field with CMA/LPN/RN or Forefront Derm Tech certification program.
• Post-high-school education in a medical support field: CMA, DERM Tech.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections and dermabrasion.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
