Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits, rooming patients, and promote a friendly, efficient environment for patients and staff.

You will scribe information, perform phlebotomy, assist with procedures such as Mohs-related steps, manage exam room readiness, schedule appointments, and help ensure accurate documentation and smooth clinic operations across our Wisconsin clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Post High School education in a medical support field; CMA/LPN/RN preferred.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, I&D, Mohs micrographic surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, patches, blue light.

May need to travel to our Wisconsin Rapids clinic as needed

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
