Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally.
• Assisting patients with the registration process and collecting information.
• Preparing the patient for the exam with preliminary tests as needed.
• Reporting relevant information to the provider.
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested.
• Performing scribe duties as needed.
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients.
• Assisting in ordering tests and retrieving results.
• Reviewing discharge instructions.
• Bracing and brace measurements under supervision.
• Collecting patient payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Balancing and closing the journal each day, when applicable.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

General Description

This Medical Assistant position provides both administrative and clinical support in patient registration, rooming, demographic and medical data collection as well as patient checkout including appointments, discharge information and payment under the supervision of a provider.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally;
• Assisting patients with the registration process including but not limited to assistance with collecting required patient information, medical history, relevant documents, and electronic signatures;
• Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed;
• Reporting relevant information to the provider;
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested;
• Performing scribe duties, as needed;
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients;
• Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results;
• Reviewing discharge instructions;
• Bracing & brace measurements under the supervision of a licensed professional;
• Collecting any patient payments and scheduling follow up appointments, if required;
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable;
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and complies with HIPAA standards;
