OrthoNY seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support physicians and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative clinic. You will handle patient registration, rooming, basic tests, charting, and scheduling while maintaining HIPAA standards and accurate data entry.

This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, with attention to detail in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical assisting certification or degree in sciences preferred.
• 1–3 years of medical setting experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong data entry skills.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally.
• Assisting patients with the registration process and collecting information.
• Preparing the patient for the exam with preliminary tests as needed.
• Reporting relevant information to the provider.
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested.
• Performing scribe duties as needed.
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients.
• Assisting in ordering tests and retrieving results.
• Reviewing discharge instructions.
• Bracing and brace measurements under supervision.
• Collecting patient payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Balancing and closing the journal each day, when applicable.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
