Job summary

New York Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, lab specimen processing, vital signs, and exam preparation in our Ronkonkoma/Patchogue locations. This role partners with physicians and nurses to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

The position requires a Medical Assistant Certificate and a high school diploma, with EMR experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Shifts are 4/10s, Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, 7:30am–6pm.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and record accurate information.

Job Description

Medical Assistant

Location: Ronkonkoma/Patchogue, NY

Hours/Days: 4/10 hr shifts, Mon,Tue,Thu,&Fri (RDO Wed) 7:30am-6pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP

In This Role, You Will

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

We Require

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
