Florida Digestive Health Specialists LLP is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused gastroenterology team at our Tampa and Trinity offices. You will provide clinical and administrative support, preparing patients, managing records, and coordinating care with providers.

The role requires 1+ year in a clinical setting (preferably gastroenterology), CMA/RMA certification is preferred, and strong communication, organizational, and EMR skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Maintain infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.

Description:The Medical Assistant will support the daily operations of the gastroenterology office by providing clinical and administrative assistance to physicians, clinicians, and patients. • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Responsible for entering recalls and handling new prescription/prescription refills as directed by the physician
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patient care is delivered seamlessly and safely
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
• Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis
• Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Certification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in gastroenterology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, and team members
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office and procedure room noise levels. The Medical Assistant must be able to observe safe practice criteria in assisting patients.
