Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice in Ohio. You will directly support physicians and patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting, delivering hands-on care with attention to accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

Hands-on training and ongoing clinical development are provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone already experienced or looking to grow clinical skills. Travel between local office locations is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update histories, record medications, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, X-rays, and basic podiatric services.

Job description

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands‑on patient care in a professional, fast‑paced outpatient setting. Hands‑on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in‑office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post‑op care, digital X‑rays, and basic podiatric services
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre‑authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post‑operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back‑office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
• CMA or RMA certification preferred
• Experience with medical terminology
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced clinic environment
• Detail‑oriented, professional, and patient‑focused
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
