Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists in Hagerstown, MD, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice and support physicians in delivering compassionate patient care.

In this outpatient role you will take vitals, document histories, update EMR, assist with minor procedures and X-rays, and ensure smooth front- and back-office operations.

Hands-on training is provided; travel between local offices may be required, and a CMA/RMA credential is preferred but not required for entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.

• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands-on patient care in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting. Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills.
