Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Suffolk, VA is seeking Medical Assistants who bring energy, empathy and teamwork to a busy outpatient setting. You will welcome patients, support providers, and document vital signs.

You will room patients, take vitals, document in EMR, administer medications per orders, and help keep the clinic running smoothly. A high school diploma is required; completion of an accredited MA program is preferred and active MA certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Active and appropriate Medical Assistant or nursing certification/licensure required
• Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and nursing practices
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, high-energy environment
• Flexibility to travel to satellite locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family member
• Support providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks efficiently and accurately
• Room patients, take and document vital signs, and update charts in the EMR
• Administer medications and injections per provider orders, following all documentation and safety protocols
• Keep patient records up to date, including medications, allergies, and medical history
• Answer phone calls, respond to patient needs, and route messages appropriately
• Help keep clinic operations running smoothly in a fast-paced setting
