Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Norfolk, VA is seeking Medical Assistants to provide compassionate patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You’ll room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, administer medications per orders, and support providers with clinical and administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and active MA or nursing certification/licensure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Active and appropriate Medical Assistant or nursing certification/licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family member.
• Support providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Room patients, take and document vital signs, and update charts in the EMR.
• Administer medications and injections per provider orders, following all documentation and safety protocols.
• Keep patient records up to date, including medications, allergies, and medical history.
• Answer phone calls, respond to patient needs, and route messages appropriately.
• Help keep clinic operations running smoothly in a fast-paced setting.
