HCA Florida Pasadena Primary Care in South Pasadena, FL, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support exam preparation, vital signs, injections, phlebotomy and clinic workflow.

• Medical Assistant Certification required or must obtain certification within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment including taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain supplies/equipment including sterilization.
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer practice telephone calls and screen for referrals.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

What Qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE:

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED Required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:3 ways to qualify:

• Medical AssistantCertification-required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA certification, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptableOR
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assistingtraining program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within60 daysof employment.OR
• Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who donotpossessMedical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.
