Job summary

Sentara Urgent South Boston is hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinic team. The CMA will perform patient care tasks and administrative duties, supporting safe high-quality care.

Schedule aligns with clinic hours: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Monday–Friday; Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Scheduled hours and shifts may vary based on business need and candidates’ availability.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days from hire.
• Clinical/Administrative Experience 1 year (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks and administrative duties as appropriate within the clinic setting.
• Adhere to safety principles for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Demonstrate effective inter-departmental communication and collaboration.
• Follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices; maintain productive and efficient daily operations.

Maintains skills and knowledge required of medical assistants and ensures effective inter-departmental collaboration while following department and system policies, procedures, and practices.
