Job summary

Sentara Urgent South Boston is hiring a Full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join a patient-centered clinic team in South Boston, VA. The CMA will perform patient care tasks and procedures while handling a range of administrative duties in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualified candidates hold CMA/RMA/CCMA or EMT Basic, with BLS completed within 90 days of hire, and typically have 1 year of clinical/administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days from hire
• Clinical/Administrative Experience 1 year preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties as appropriate
• Identify and incorporate safety principles for patients, visitors, and employees
• Support inter‑departmental interactions and follow department and system policies and practices
