Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant for the LVPG-L Pulmonary & Critical Care team in Steamtown, Scranton. This full-time position supports clinical and clerical tasks under supervision, including exam prep, history collection, vaccine/med refills, and front office duties.

You will maintain EMR workflows, coordinate appointments, collect payments, and ensure patient-centered care. Strong computer skills, teamwork, and adaptability are essential in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant and ability to adapt to change.
• Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel.
• Certifications: CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA, AMT (listed in job postings)

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms and clinical area.
• Performs medical history collection and medication refill per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens and schedules referrals and/or procedures.
• Identifies actual or potential patient risks and communicates those risks to the licensed nurse or provider.
• Performs clerical duties and front office support such as greeting patients and collecting co-pays.
• Uses patient-centered care concepts in delivering care and related activities.
