Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day shift in LVPG-L Family and Internal Med – Meade St. The role supports the clinical team under supervision of LPN/RN/provider and performs admin, clinical and clerical tasks.

The position requires a Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant and strong computer skills (EMR, word processing, Excel). BLS certification is required within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant required.
• Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing and Excel.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms and clinical area.
• Performs medical history collection and medication refill per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens and lab requisitions; schedules referrals.
• Identifies risks and notifies licensed staff when observed.
• Adheres to clerical, clinical and EMR workflows; front office duties.
• Greet patients, collect co-payments, update demographics and schedule appointments.
• Uses patient-centered care concepts in delivering care.
