Job summary

City of Hope seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in providing patient care at our Arizona location in Scottsdale. The role emphasizes teamwork to improve the patient experience, communication, and access to care.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of MA experience, a high school diploma or equivalent with approved MA training or certifying program, and BLS. Shift is Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a comparable Medical Assistant role within the last three years.
• High school diploma or equivalent; must be followed by an approved MA training program or equivalent certification.
• Certification: MA certification from AAMA/NCCA/ANSI if trained through an unapproved program.

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and assisting with direct patient care. The M.A. works in a team model to improve the patient experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: One year within the last three years in a comparable job classification.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent -AND- one of the following:
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program (in accordance with Arizona State R4-16-101 accrediting regulations);
  • Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.
• Licensure
• Certification:
  • If a graduate of an unapproved program, Medical Assistant Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
