Job summary

City of Hope in Arizona is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering compassionate patient care within a nationally recognized cancer and diabetes care network. The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience in a comparable role, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an approved MA training program (or certification by AAMA/NCCA/ANSI).

BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA training program or approved certifying organization required.
• Certification: MA Certification from AAMA/NCCA/ANSI or equivalent may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care.

The successful candidate

• Shift M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM***

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and assisting with direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: One year within the last three years in a comparable job classification.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent -AND one of the following: Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program (in accordance with Arizona State R4-16-101 accrediting regulations); OR Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI); OR Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

Certification: If a graduate of an unapproved program, Medical Assistant Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical.
