Job summary

City of Hope in Goodyear, AZ, seeks a Medical Assistant to support our Breast Medical Oncologist with patient care and clinical workflow, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM. You will assist clinicians and nursing staff, perform direct patient care tasks, and contribute to delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Eligible candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or equivalent certification, and BLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required) with MA training program or certifying organization.
• Certification from AAMA/NCCA/ANSI or equivalent is required if graduate of an unapproved program.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

The successful candidate

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and assisting with direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide excellent patient experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent - AND one of the following:

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program (in accordance with Arizona State R4-16-101 accrediting regulations).
• Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
• Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

Certification:

• If a graduate of an unapproved program, Medical Assistant Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
