Job summary

City of Hope in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering patient care. You will work in a team-based environment to improve patient communication, access to care, and satisfaction.

Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent and MA training per AZ regulations, or recognized certification options. AHA BLS certification is preferred. Mon-Fri 8:00AM-4:00PM with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and assisting with direct patient care. The M.A. works in a team model to improve the patient experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: One year within the last three years in a comparable job classification.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent -AND- one of the following:

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program (in accordance with Arizona State R4-16-101 accrediting regulations);
• OR
• Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
• OR
• Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

Licensure

Certification

• If a graduate of an unapproved program, Medical Assistant Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
• OR
• Graduate under an approved training program identified in R4-16-101 when certificate was awarded.
